How to Develop Self-Trust and Release Self-Doubt
How to Develop Self-Trust and Release Self-Doubt
Do you ever find yourself second-guessing your decisions or questioning your abilities? It's normal to doubt ourselves from time to time, but when that doubt becomes a constant voice in our heads, it can hinder our progress and happiness. The good news is that learning how to develop self-trust and release self-doubt is possible, and it's easier than you might think. In this post, we'll explore some practical tips to help you build trust in yourself and overcome self-doubt.
Address the root cause
Self-trust can be hindered by unaddressed blocks in our Akashic Records. If you notice this pattern in your life, delving deeper into the exploration through clearing within the Akashic records may prove beneficial.
Trauma healing and cultivating a sense of safety in the body can also significantly contribute to the development of self-trust while releasing self-doubt. Childhood trauma particularly can effect one’s sense of self trust. To explore this more read my article on this topic here.
Set realistic goals
If you want to build self-trust, start by setting realistic goals for yourself. When you set achievable goals and keep your promises to yourself, you prove to yourself that you can do what you set out to do. It can be tempting to set big goals right off the bat, but it's important to start small and work your way up. This way, you won't put unrealistic expectations on yourself, which can lead to disappointment and self-doubt. By small, I mean very small. Examples are meditating or journalling for a few minutes a day, moving your body for a few minutes to get the energy flowing - whatever calls to you. There is no such thing as too small here, we are looking for consistency.
Tune into your inner wisdom
One of the biggest obstacles to self-trust is believing that the answers are outside of ourselves. Instead of automatically seeking external advice, take the time to tune in to your inner wisdom. Commit to a practice of reflection and self-inquiry, and see what arises before seeking outside help. You can still seek advice, but make it a habit to check in with yourself first. This way, you'll start to build confidence in your own abilities to handle situations.
Learn to regulate your emotions
Self-doubt can often stem from our emotions. When we're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stressed, it's easy to succumb to self-doubt. Learning how to regulate your emotions is a crucial step in building self-trust. Take the time to check in with yourself regularly and identify what triggers your emotions. Then, practice techniques to support you in difficult situations.
Treat yourself with compassion
When we're dealing with self-doubt, it's easy to be hard on ourselves. Instead, learn to treat yourself with kindness and compassion. Imagine that you're taking care of your inner child. How would you speak to them? What would you do to comfort them? Treat yourself with the same care and attention, and you'll start to build trust in yourself and your abilities. Learning to forgive ourselves is an important element in building self-trust. Acknowledge you are learning through each experience and doing your best.
In Summary..
Building self-trust and overcoming self-doubt is a process, and it takes time and practice. But by setting realistic goals, tuning into your inner wisdom, regulating your emotions, treating yourself with kindness, and calling your energy back, you can start to build trust in yourself and your abilities. Remember, the most important relationship you have is with yourself, so treat yourself with the care and attention you deserve. With time and patience, powerful self-trust and confidence will become second nature to you.
