The Art of Grounding

The concept of grounding is often overlooked in spiritual seekers or those wanting to develop their intuition. Where trying to work in the upper chakras right!? Grounding is like the spare tire in your spiritual journey; you may not always notice its significance until you're running on a flat. It is through grounding we can deeply access our internal power and spiritual gifts. Let's see why.

Understand Your Electric Force

Before we plug into the cosmic, we need to understand the electricity that runs through our being. Grounding is the practice of connecting to the Earth’s natural, subtle energies and harmonizing with them. When our energy is feeling unstable or a little off, grounding helps reset the switch. It's essentially refocusing the camera so we can capture the image (intuitive downloads) with more clarity. It's about being here and now and understanding the immense strength in being rooted.

The Magic of a Grounded Container

Everyone loves a good metaphor, and the one for grounding is an empty glass waiting to be filled. But here’s the twist: You’re the glass. You need to be solid on the ground, unshaken by life’s chaos, so you can gather the sweet drops of wisdom and guidance without spilling any. This is how we maintain a clear and stable channel for the spiritual guidance the Universe has in store for us.

Balancing the Energies

In this musing about chakras, often seekers become all about the third eye but forgot about the feet. In many spiritual journeys, there's a heavy lean towards the upper chakras: the ones concerned with lofty ideas, connection, and sight. Meanwhile, the foundation, the base, the down-to-earth chakras that keep you standing tall often get overlooked. It's like building the top floors of a skyscraper before laying the beams of its foundation. Of course, highly sensitive and intuitive people often are more inclined to the upper chakras - this is not a bad thing, as long as we are grounded and clear in this connection.

A Divine Vessel is Both Grounded and Open

We aim for that sweet spot where we are both grounded in our physical presence and open to the wisdom of higher consciousness. When we strike this balance, our own unique balance, we become divine vessels, powerful in our stability and expansive in our connection to the infinite.

Starting Small: Micro-Moments of Grounding

Not everyone has the luxury of hours of meditation every day. But you'd be amazed at what a few moments of intentional grounding can do. We’re talking about something as simple as being aware of your breath, the feel of your body on the chair, your feet on the ground. It’s the small, conscious acts that lead to big, unconscious shifts in our energy.

Catering to Your Needs

Now some people need a bit more to feel like a potted plant rather than a tumbleweed. And that's okay. If you’re incredibly sensitive to energies and emotions, you may need additional grounding techniques to keep that see-saw level.

For the Highly Sensitives

If you're a highly sensitive person, you're like a finely tuned instrument, and grounding becomes the act of keeping that instrument steadily in tune. Don't wrestle with being less grounded; it's not a flaw in your design, it's part of your superpower. But if you’re feeling like an untethered balloon or energetically scattered, grounding might be where you need to start.

A Daily Dance

Grounding doesn't have to be a grand session with incense, candles, and chants. It can be the simplest act, like taking a few breaths before a meeting or running your toes through the grass. It’s a dance with gravity, a daily nod to the physical force that keeps us earthbound and, ironically, our spirituality afloat. It is through this grounding into our bodies that we find our Self energy, our Soul.

Such a paradox, right? But that's the beauty of grounding; it’s simple. An upward journey begins with a downward step.
